Hoy vengo a comentaros una tendencia cada vez más fuerte en viajes que estoy deseando disfrutar este verano en nuestro viaje a Africa… el glampling!

 

¿Qué es el Glamping?

Se trata de un nuevo concepto de camping totalmente evolucionado, en el que se puede disfrutar de un viaje de aventura en mitad de la naturaleza con todas las comodidades de un hotel de lujo… es lo último en ecoturismo, mezcla tanto el lado más alternativo y aventurero como el más glamouroso y creo que lo tiene todo para hacer de un viaje una experiencia inolvidable… os animáis a descubrirlo?

 

Sus orígenes

Como no podía ser de otra manera, el gampling se originó en Africa, cuando un cierto tipo de turistas que no se conformaban con dormir en las típicas tiendas de campaña durante sus safaris crearon la necesidad de pensar en nuevos conceptos de alojamiento más equipados en términos de servicio e instalaciones, sin perder el contacto directo con la naturaleza. Hoy en día, Africa, Sudamérica (especialmente Chile) e Indonesia lideran este nuevo tipo de alojamiento y son los más avanzados a la hora de ofrecer los mejores servicios a los viajeros…

 

La experiencia

Hoy en día algunos han evolucionado al nivel de muchos resorts y ofrecen hasta clases de yoga o Pilates en plena sabana… todo un mundo de experiencias y sensaciones por descubrir en medio de entornos vírgenes y salvajes. Las tradicionales tiendas de campaña dan paso a tipis, yurtas o lodges equipados con camas king size, baños con jacuzzi o vistas espectaculares del entorno natural en el que se enclavan, y si, se puede disfrutar de agua caliente en la ducha, de baño privado, es decir… tenerlo todo en mitad de la nada. Todo ello bajo una filosofía de máximo respeto y sostenibilidad con el medio ambiente en el que se ubican.

 

5 glamplings con encanto…

Es difícil, muy difícil, escoger solo 5…. y más para mí que cada vez me atraen más este tipo de propuestas, pero he hecho un buen ejercicio de selección e investigación y aquí están mis ganadores!!! … he intentado que hubiese representación de diferentes enclaves naturales (desierto, nieve, ríos, la sabana…) y precios, espero que os gusten!… En cualquier caso, si os quedáis con ganas de más, Glamping Hub tiene recopilados prácticamente todos los que existen…

 

1. Four Rivers Floating Lodge, Camboya

Situadas justo en la orilla del Río Tatai, entre entre Bangkok y Phnom Penha, las villas -casi jaimas –  flotantes de este campamento de lujo se esparcen a lo largo del río y ofrecen unas vistas increíbles de los Montes Cardamomo.  El lodge cuenta con todo tipo de servicios imaginables, empezando por recoger a los clientes a su llegada al muelle o incluso ofrecerles una canoa propia, además de una ubicación privilegiada… y lo mejor es que todavía se mantiene secreto y desconocido, alejado de las grandes masas de turistas. Uno de los lugares más tranquilos que existen en el planeta que no podía faltar como uno de los glampings más destacado en esta lista… a un precio bastante razonable para todo lo que ofrece, unos 140€ la noche.

 

2. Whitepod, Suiza

Situado en plenos Alpes Suizos, el Whitepod Eco-Luxury Hotel es uno de esos lugares de ensueño que parece que forman parte de algún tipo de cuento… sus habitaciones se distribuyen en 15 pods o iglús acristalados, y la mejor experiencia es disfrutar por la noche de las estrellas desde sus enormes cristaleras mientras el calor de la chimenea caldea el interior.  Cada uno de los iglús tiene vistas a un lago y acceso a la sauna finlandesa, y además el hotel ofrece actividades como montar en trineo o forfaits de ski. Su precio, algo más elevado… no olvidemos que hablamos de Suiza… unos 250€ la noche.

 

3. Scarabeo Camp, Marruecos

Sus tiendas vintage en el Desierto de Agafay, a tan solo 45 minutos al sur de Marrakech, combinan la libertad y el entorno salvaje del desierto con todo el confort y la exclusividad de un hotel, ofreciendo una opción totalmente diferente a cualquier otro alojamiento en el que hayáis estado antes en el interior de un campamento nómada. Insólito, mágico, único… en el que el mejor momento se vive con la llegada de la noche alrededor del fuego bajo las estrellas. Y por un precio de 150€ la noche… merece la pena, verdad?

 

4. Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge, Bostwana

Enclavado en pleno Delta del Okavango, este lugar es simplemente espectacular y remoto en mitad de la selva africana, y en él podrás despertar cada mañana entre babuinos. Es un sitio pequeño, acogedor e íntimo pero no por ello es menos increíble: su arquitectura es impresionante, su decoración es moderna pero auténticamente africana y es el lugar ideal para los amantes de la fotografía y de la naturaleza. Un lujo solo para privilegiados que puede llegar a superar los 1.000€ por noche!!!!

 

5. Patagonia Camp, Chile

Y para terminar con la selección de hoy, todo un clásico: el Patagonia Camp en Torres del Paine, un alojamiento compuesto por 18 yurtas – o lujosas tiendas de estilo Mongol -. Fue el primero en inaugurar el fenómeno del glamping en Chile y mantiene su esencia desde entonces, ofreciendo a sus clientes una experiencia en plena naturaleza junto al Lago Toro.  Una ubicación de ensueño, unas vistas maravillosas… ideal para una escapada romántica e incluso gourmet por su excelente oferta gastronómica y vinícola…Por unos 350€ la noche.

 

 

Espero que esta nueva tendencia os haya conquistado tanto como a mí… Me dejo para más adelante el alojamiento que hemos escogido para este verano en Masai Mara, Kenia, porque quiero contaros más sobre él a la vuelta de vacaciones… tengo tantas ganas de irme de safari!!! Y también me gustaría hablaros en otro post de nuestro Glamping nacional… en España también tenemos opciones más que interesantes para disfrutar deeste nuevo modo de viajar y disfrutar de la naturaleza. Today I come to tell you an increasingly strong trend in trips that I am looking forward to enjoy this summer on our trip to Africa … the glampling!

 

What is glamping?

This is a new concept of camping fully evolved, in which you can enjoy an adventure trip in the middle of nature with all the amenities of a luxury hotel … it is the ultimate in ecotourism, mixing both the most alternative and adventurous as the most glamorous and I think it has everything to make a trip an unforgettable experience … do you dare to discover it?

Its origins

As it could not be otherwise, the gampling originated in Africa, when a certain type of tourists who did not settle for sleeping in the typical tents during their safaris created the need to think of new concepts of accommodation more equipped in terms of service and facilities, without losing the direct contact with nature. Nowadays, Africa, South America (especially Chile) and Indonesia lead this new type of accommodation and are the most advanced when it comes to providing the best services to travelers …

 

 

The glamping experience

Nowadays some of them have evolved to the level of many resorts and offer even yoga classes or Pilates in the middle of the savannah … a whole world of experiences and sensations to discover amid virgin and wild environments. The traditional tents give way to tipis, yurts or lodges equipped with king size beds, bathrooms with jacuzzi or spectacular views of the natural surroundings in which they are locked, and if, you can enjoy hot water in the shower, private bath , that is to say … to have everything in the middle of nowhere. All this under a philosophy of maximum respect and sustainability with the environment in which they are located.

 

 

5 charming glamplings in the World…

It is difficult, very difficult, to choose only 5 …. and more for me that I am increasingly attracted to these types of proposals, but I have done a good exercise of selection and research and here are my winners !!! … I tried to have representation of different natural enclaves (desert, snow, rivers, savannah …) and prices, I hope you like them! … In any case, if you want more, Glamping Hub has compiled virtually all that exist…

 

1. Four Rivers Floating Lodge, Camboya

Located right on the banks of the Tatai River, between Bangkok and Phnom Penha, the floating villas of this luxurious camp spread out along the river and offer incredible views of the Cardamomo Mountains. The lodge has all kinds of services imaginable, starting by picking up customers upon arrival at the pier or even offering them a canoe of its own, in addition to a privileged location … and the best thing is that it still remains secret and unknown, away from the large masses of tourists. One of the quietest places on the planet that could not miss as one of the most outstanding glampings on this list … at a fairly reasonable price for everything it offers, about 140 € per night.

 

2. Whitepod, Suiza

Located in the heart of the Swiss Alps, the Whitepod Eco-Luxury Hotel is one of those dreamlike places that seem to be part of some kind of fairytale … its rooms are distributed in 15 pods or glazed igloos, and the best experience is to enjoy the stars from their huge windows as the heat of the fireplace warms the interior. Each of the igloos overlooks a lake and access to the Finnish sauna, and the hotel also offers activities such as sledding or ski passes. Its price, something higher … do not forget that we speak of Switzerland … about 250 € per night.

 

3. Scarabeo Camp, Marruecos

 

Its vintage tents in the Agafay Desert, just 45 minutes south of Marrakesh, combine freedom and the wild desert environment with all the comfort and exclusivity of a hotel, offering a totally different choice to any other accommodation in the that you have been before in the interior of a nomadic camp. Unusual, magical, unique … in which the best moment is lived with the arrival of the night around the fire under the stars. And for a price of € 150 a night … worth it, right?

 

4. Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge, Bostwana

Nestled in the heart of the Okavango Delta, this place is simply spectacular and remote in the middle of the African jungle, where you can wake up every morning between baboons. It is a small, cozy and intimate place but it is not less incredible: its architecture is impressive, its decoration is modern but authentically African and is the ideal place for lovers of photography and nature. A luxury only for privileged that can reach to exceed 1.000 € per night !!!!

 

5. Patagonia Camp, Chile

And to finish with today’s selection, a classic: the Patagonia Camp in Torres del Paine, an accommodation composed of 18 yurts – or luxurious Mongolian style shops. It was the first to inaugurate the phenomenon of glamping in Chile and has maintained its essence since then, offering its clients an experience in the heart of nature next to Lake Toro. A dream location, wonderful views … ideal for a romantic and even gourmet getaway for its excellent gastronomic and winery offer … For around € 350 per night.
