Este Mundo es demasiado grande para pasar nuestro tiempo en un solo lugar
2018 lo he empezado con mucho tiempo… tras venir de Costa Rica tenía algunos proyectos que han terminado retrasándose, así que podríamos decir que el inicio de año se planteaba tranquilo…
…o no? 😉
Pues la verdad es que este mes y medio ha terminado siendo muy pero que muy productivo, lleno de planes y planificaciones minuciosas, en el que así como quien no quiere la cosa he terminado cerrando algunos de los viajes del 2018. Me he pasado varias horas al día investigando y profundizando en destinos que siempre hemos tenido en mente, pero que por falta de tiempo no hemos podido conocer porque requerían de una cierta logística… e incluso por el camino he ido apuntando nuevas ideas para el futuro! Han sido unos días maravillosos buscando en Internet, en Instagram, en foros, en guías, preguntando a quienes han estado allí… (en algún post os contaré cómo suelo documentarme y prepararme para los viajes, que tiene su miga!) Y lo mejor es que el año todavía nos deja un poco de cancha para poder improvisar nuevas escapadas sobre la marcha, así que más que nunca parece que lo mejor está por venir.
Chefchaouen
No sé cuánto tiempo he observado embelesada imágenes y fotografías de este lugar único en el Mundo en el que se combinan de manera casi mágica mil y un tonos de azul. Mirándolas, me imaginaba caminando por sus calles color añil con un vestido vaporoso mientras me sumergía en ese ambiente de cuento en el que no faltaba el olor a menta, el sonido de la llamada a las oraciones desde los minaretes de la Medina o la luz infiltrándose por los callejones. Y en cada foto de Chaouen de morocco.vacations (a quienes sigo cada día en Instagram) me enamoraba más y más de este lugar.
Pero nunca me decidí a experimentarlo porque el viaje de dos horas y media desde Tánger hasta allí únicamente accesible en taxi me terminaba dando un poco de pereza. Debe ser que Costa Rica me ha infundido una dosis extra de ganas de aventura, porque ahora que lo veo cercano no me parece tan aburrido… de hecho estoy deseando hacer este viaje e incluso abierta a vivir todo tipo de experiencias por el camino, jejeje. Además, tenemos uno de los mejores alicientes: hemos encontrado un Bed&Breakfast simplemente maravilloso, es precioso y está cuidado al mínimo detalle, nos han chivado que los desayunos son espectaculares con unas vistas únicas al Valle del Riff y los dueños son encantadores… (ya os contaré qué tal la experiencia). Así que, si todo va bien, en tan solo 38 días podré estar por fin haciendo este sueño realidad y me muero de ganas por vivirlo!
Assilah
Y, aprovechando que íbamos a Marruecos, no dejé pasar la oportunidad de dejar unos días para conocer Assilah… una localidad al borde del mar que siempre me ha parecido que tenía muchísimo encanto. Será finales de Marzo y, teniendo en cuenta que estamos en África, espero poder disfrutar de la playa y del relax de su Medina de casas encaladas en blanco que me transmite mucha paz. Además he investigado un poco la zona y me muero por conocer su Mercado y Centro Artesanal… iré practicando mis habilidades de regateo porque este año pretendo ir a buscar tesoros y no me pienso venir con las manos vacías! 😄
San Gimignano
Llevo un poco regular eso de cumplir años y desde hace mucho tiempo mi mejor terapia es celebrarlo en algún sitio que me haga mucha ilusión. Este año va a ser una fecha muy señalada, y me apetecía mucho escaparme a un lugar evocador, energético, inspirador, artístico… donde sobre todo se celebren por todo lo alto los grandes placeres de la vida. Enseguida visualicé este pueblecito encantador, cálido, mediterráneo, rodeado de viñedos y buena gastronomía, donde brindar cada tarde a la puesta de sol en plena campiña. Tenía que ser La Toscana y no podía ser otro que San Gimignano. Puede que sea uno de los lugares más maravillosos del Mundo y también uno de los que más se adaptan a mis grandes pasiones: un buen vino, una buena comida, buena gente y la belleza de la naturaleza alrededor. Ideal para soplar una velita más pero sintiéndote más viva que nunca.
Pisa
Y, ya que estamos por la zona, pasaremos a visitar una ciudad que todavía no conozco de Italia: Pisa. Me han hablado maravillas de ella y, a pesar de ser pequeña, voy cargada de recomendaciones para sacarle el máximo partido en pocos días. Tengo muchas ganas de ver la famosa torre inclinada y hacerme las típicas fotos chorra de rigor, pero también descubrir otros pequeños rincones secretos menos turísticos y disfrutar de su buen ambiente.
Zakynthos
Mi propósito de Año Nuevo, y en general para todos los años que vengan por delante, es ir cumpliendo poco a poco el deseo de ir a los lugares que siempre han estado en mi bucket list e ir tachándolos uno por uno… No quiero que se quede solo en propósito, y ya he empezado 2018 con uno de los grandes: atravesar los Puentes Colgantes de Monteverde, así que he decidido sacar un billete este verano a Zakynthos para ir a ver La Playa del Navaggio… un lugar que lleva formando parte de mi lista desde los inicios. Me muero por subir al mirador y poder observar en primera persona desde el acantilado esta calita de ensueño para luego bajar a bañarme en sus aguas transparentes… y sentirme una especie de Robinson Crusoe en su isla perdida. Lo malo es que creo que después me va a costar muchísimo moverme de allí!!! 😂
Kefalonia
A tan solo un paseo en Ferry desde Zakynthos, Kefalonia es otra isla griega más que interesante para descubrir. Nos hemos enamorado literalmente de uno de sus pueblecitos, Assos, donde pensamos pasar varios días mezclándonos con la gente en sus tabernas y disfrutar de sus playas. Aunque es un pueblecito un tanto remoto y tendremos que buscar la manera de llegar desde el puerto, nos apetece muchísimo perdernos por allí y relajarnos a tope.
Lefkada
Dicen que Porto Katsiki, en Lefkada, es uno de los lugares que tienes que ver al menos una vez en la vida… y no podíamos planificar el viaje sin visitarlo. Así que cogeremos el último barco hacia esta isla para intentar recorrer todos sus rincones y encontrar sus playas más recónditas… dicen que hay algunas completamente vírgenes que son un verdadero paraíso, música para mis oídos!!!
Atenas
Puede que sea ya la cuarta o quinta vez que voy a Atenas y la verdad es que no me canso nunca de ella. Este año, además, hemos buscado un alojamiento en pleno Plaka, mi barrio preferido en la cuidad, y tenemos pensado hacer un tour completo por Anafiotika para hacer buenas fotos: aquí parece que el tiempo se detiene y la calma es absoluta. Estoy deseando perderme entre sus calles y descubrir todos sus rincones… y para poner el broche final al viaje terminar cenando en las terracitas iluminadas con bombillas incandescentes de Plaka disfrutando de la deliciosa cocina griega…mmmm!
Fuerteventura
Puede que sea el Gran Descubrimiento de 2017 y nos enganchó tanto que no hemos podido resistirnos a volver. Esta vez iremos a la zona de Corralejo… planeamos pasar Fin de Año en sus aguas turquesa y estamos deseando hacer una escapada de snorkel en la Isla de Lobos, relajarnos en el Parque Natural de las Dunas e incluso puede que dar alguna clase de surf… el último viaje de este año promete!
Como veis al final me ha cundido mucho este mes… qué peligro tener tiempo, verdad? ¿Y vosotros? ¿Tenéis ya algún destino reservado para el 2018? Contádmelos todos para que tome nota!

This World is too big to spend our time in only one place
I’ve started the year with a lot of time … after coming from Costa Rica some projects I had have ended up delaying, so we could say that the beginning of the year was quiet …
…or not? 😉
The truth is that this month an a half has ended up being a very, very productive, full of detailed plans and plans, in I ended up closing a good part of the trips of 2018. I have spent several hours a day investigating and deepening in some of the destinations we have always had in mind, but for lack of time we have not been able to know because they required a certain logistics … and even along the way I have been aiming new ideas for the future ! They have been wonderful days searching the Internet, Instagram, forums, guides, asking those who have been there … (I will tell you how I usually document and prepare for travel in future posts). And the best is that the year still leaves us a bit of space to be able to improvise new adventures, so the best is yet to come.
Chefchaouen
I do not know how long I have observed enraptured images and photographs of this unique place in the world where almost a thousand and one shades of blue are combined in an almost magical way. Looking at them, I imagined myself walking through their indigo streets with a flowing dress as I immersed myself in that fairytale atmosphere in which there was no lack of the smell of mint, the sound of the call to prayers from the minarets of the Medina or the light infiltrating through the alleys. And in each Chaouen photo of morocco.vacations (whom I follow on Instagram) I fell more and more in love with this place.
But I never decided to experience it because the trip of two and a half hours from Tangier to there only accessible by taxi ended up giving me a bit of laziness. It must be that Costa Rica has given me an extra dose of desire for adventure, because now that I see it close to me it does not seem so boring … in fact I’m looking forward to this trip and even open to live all kinds of experiences along the way, hehehe. In addition, we have one of the best attractions: we have found a Bed & Breakfast simply wonderful, it is beautiful and is careful to the smallest detail, they have told us that the breakfasts are spectacular with unique views of the Riff Valley and the owners are charming … ( I’ll tell you how about the experience). So, if everything goes well, in just 30 days I can finally be making this dream come true and I’m dying to live it!
Assilah
Taking advantage of the fact that we were going to Morocco, I did not miss the opportunity to leave a few days to get to know Assilah … a town on the edge of the sea that I always thought had a lot of charm. It will be the end of March and, taking into account that we are in Africa, I hope to enjoy the beach and the relaxation of its Medina whitewashed houses that transmits me much peace. I have also researched the area a bit and I’m dying to know its Market and Artisan Center … I will be practicing my bargaining skills because this year I intend to find good treasures and I do not want to come back to Spain empty-handed! 😄
San Gimignano
I do not like too much to be old 😜 and for a long time my best therapy is to celebrate my birthday somewhere I am very excited. This year is going to be a very important date, and I really wanted to escape to an evocative, energetic, inspiring, artistic place … where, above all, the great pleasures of life are celebrated all over the top. I immediately visualized this charming, warm, Mediterranean village, surrounded by vineyards and good gastronomy, where toast every afternoon at sunset in the countryside. It had to be La Toscana and it could not be other than San Gimignano. It may be one of the most wonderful places in the world and also one of the most adapted to my great passions: good wine, good food, good people and the beauty of nature around. Ideal to blow a little candle but feeling more alive than ever.
Pisa
And, since we are in the area, we will visit a city that I still do not know about Italy: Pisa. I have heard wonders of it and, despite being small, I am full of recommendations to get the most out in a few days. I really want to see the famous leaning tower and make the typical funny pictures there, but also discover other small secret places and enjoy its good atmosphere.
Zakynthos
My New Year’s purpose, and in general for all the years that come before, is to gradually fulfill the desire to go to the places that have always been in my bucket list and to cross them one by one … I do not want to stay alone on purpose, and I have already started 2018 with one of the big ones: to cross the Hanging Bridges of Monteverde, so I decided to take a ticket this summer to Zakynthos to go to see The Navaggio Beach … a place that has been part of my list since the beginning. I’m dying to go up to the viewpoint and be able to observe in the first person from the cliff this dream cove and then go down to bathe in its transparent waters … and feel a kind of Robinson Crusoe on his lost island. The bad thing is that it will cost me a lot to move from there! 😂
Kefalonia
Just a Ferry ride from Zakynthos, Kefalonia is another Greek island more than interesting to discover. We have fallen in love literally with one of their villages, Assos, where we plan to spend several days mixing with people in their taverns and enjoying their beaches. Although it is a remote village and we will have to find a way to get there from the ferry port, we really want to get lost there and relax to the fullest.
Lefkada
They say that Porto Katsiki, in Lefkada, is one of the places you have to see at least once in your life … and we could not plan the trip without visiting it. So we will take the last boat to this island to try to explore all its corners and find its most recondite beaches … they say that there are some completely virgins that are a true paradise, music for my ears!!!
Athens
It may be the fourth or fifth time I go to Athens and the truth is that I never get tired of it. This year, in addition, we have searched for accommodation in Plaka, my favorite neighborhood in the city, and we plan to do a full tour of Anafiotika to take good photos: here it seems that time stops and calm is absolute. I’m looking forward to getting lost in its streets and discovering all its corners … and to put the finishing touches on the trip, end up having dinner in the terraces illuminated with incandescent bulbs of Plaka, enjoying the delicious Greek cuisine…mmmm!
Fuerteventura
It may be the Great Discovery of 2017 and it hooked us so much that we could not resist coming back. This time we will go to the area of Corralejo… we plan to spend the New Year in its turquoise waters and we are looking forward to a snorkel trip on the Isla de Lobos, relax in the Natural Park of the Dunes and may even have some surf classes… the last trip of this year promises to be amazing!
