Es increíble, cada año que pasa siento que voy ampliando miras y tengo más necesidad de conocer nuevos rincones del mundo… siempre he tenido mi wish list particular, pero esta lista cambia continuamente bien porque por fin puedo tachar alguno (como la Playa del Naufragio en Zakynthos, Maya Bay en Tailandia, el Monte Saint-Michel, los puentes colgantes del Bosque Nuboso de Monteverde, Chefchaouen, la Costa Amalfitana, Tulum, Chichén Itzá, la Toscana, Pura Ulun Danu Bratan o Tanah Lot en Bali, Goa en India, Masai Mara en Kenia, el Cristo Redentor de Rio de Janeiro o próximamente Angkor) o bien porque empiezo a añadir y añadir sin parar…
Así que me he hecho a mí misma la promesa de priorizar y elegir esos lugares que de verdad quiero conocer en la vida, y que espero como hasta ahora poder ir descubriendo sin prisa pero sin pausa. He intentado que sean sitios concretos de ciertos países para hacerlo “psicológicamente“ más accesible jejeje… ojalá pueda ir tachándolos de la lista. Y para que no se quede en el aire, quiero dejar constancia y compartirlo con vosotros en este post para poder leerlo con el tiempo y comprobar mis progresos.
Esta semana os desvelo los cinco primeros, a ver que os parecen!!
Rincones del Mundo que sueño conocer algún día (I)
1. La Avenida de los Baobabs en Madagascar
Dicen de él que es un lugar mágico y en realidad es un camino de tierra de 260 metros de longitud flanqueado por unos 25 baobabs que pueden llegar hasta los 800 años entre Morondava y Belon’i Tsiribihina al oeste de Madagascar. Ver este impresionante espectáculo al atardecer o al amanecer debe ser una experiencia inolvidable que quiero vivir alguna vez en la vida…
2. Hoi An en Vietnam
Conocer esta ciudad patrimonio de la Humanidad que apenas ha cambiado en los últimos 200 años, fundada como principal puerto del comercio de especias y en la que los japoneses ubicaron su puente durante su asentamiento se ha convertido en una de mis grandes aspiraciones. En realidad, Vietnam está repleto de grandes aspirantes a mi lista: Ha Long, Cat Ba, Mù Cang Chải, el Puente Dorado, Ninh Bình, la isla de Phu Quoc o Sapa son rincones espectaculares que aprovecharé para conocer cuando viaje a este impresionante país. Pero Hoi An, considerada la ciudad más bonita de Vietnam, tiene ese encanto especial y esa capacidad de hacerte retroceder en el tiempo entre sus pagodas, templos, casitas tradicionales y leyendas. Sé que tarde o temprano podré disfrutarla y saborearla en alguno de sus mercados nocturnos junto a la luz de alguno de sus coloridos farolillos.
3. El Puente de los Nueve Arcos en Ella, Sri Lanka
La experiencia de coger el tren de Kandy hasta Ella y vivir esas 6 horas de viaje en segunda clase pasando de pie bastantes de sus tramos, más allá de parecerme horrible me sugiere momentos épicos disfrutando de vistas impresionantes serpenteando entre montañas, granjas y la jungla. Es algo que siempre he querido hacer. Y al llegar a Ella, disfrutar de este puente entre las estaciones de Ella y Demodara al que llaman Ahas Namaye Palama – puente de nueve cielos en cingalés- porque si lo miras desde debajo puedes ver el cielo a través de los nueve arcos. Rodeado de hojas de té y palmeras, me parece un lugar mágico desde donde ver el momento en el que el tren cruza por sus arcos y deleitarte con las vistas.
4. Borobudur en Yogyakarta, Java Central
El templo budista más grande del mundo, lleno de leyendas y misticismo, de siempre me ha quitado la respiración con solo mirarlo en fotos (no me puedo imaginar estar allí en persona). Algunos dicen que es el lugar en el que se encuentra la tumba de Buda y, visto desde el aire, es un gran mandala que simboliza el peregrinaje de la mente por el cosmos hasta alcanzar la felicidad absoluta, la serenidad de la mente y la armonía con el Universo: lo que llaman el Nirvana. ¿Puede haber algo más? no, ¿verdad?. Pues ya estaría.
5. Bagan en Myanmar
Este maravilloso lugar y su conjunto arqueológico concentran más de 4000 templos budistas de los siglos XI y XII y me parecen un auténtico espectáculo. Pasear entre templos, altares y pagodas elevados sobre la tierra roja o escondidos entre la vegetación tropical o, todavía mejor, observarlos desde el aire en globo, debe ser simplemente alucinante. Junto con una ruta por el Lago Inle y unos días de descanso y buceo en las islas del Archipiélago de Myeik, es uno de esos viajes para recordarlo toda la vida.
Estos son solo cinco de mis preferidos… cuáles son los vuestros?

It is incredible, every year that passes I feel that I am expanding my sights and I have more need to know new corners of the world … I have always had my particular wish list, but this list changes continuously well because finally I can cross out some (like Shipwreck in Zakynthos, Maya Bay in Thailand, Mount Saint-Michel, the hanging bridgesof the Monteverde Cloud Forest, Chefchaouen, the Amalfi Coast, Tulum, Chichen Itza, Tuscany, Pura Ulun Danu Bratan or Tanah Lot in Bali, Goa in India, Masai Mara in Kenya, the Christ Redeemer of Rio de Janeiro or soon Angkor) or because I start adding and adding nonstop …
So I have made myself the promise to prioritize and choose those places that I really want to know in life, and that I hope as until now I can discover without haste but without pause. I have tried to make them specific places in certain countries to make it «psychologically» more accessible hehehe … I hope I can cross them off the list. And so that it does not stay in the air, I want to record and share it with you in this post so that I can read it over time and check my progress.

Places of the World I dream to meet someday (I)
1. Avenue of Baobabs, Madagascar
They say that it is a magical place and is actually a 260-meter-long dirt road flanked by about 25 baobabs that can reach 800 years between Morondava and Belon’i Tsiribihina west of Madagascar. Seeing this impressive show at sunset or sunrise should be an unforgettable experience that I want to live sometime …
2. Hoi An, Vietnam
Knowing this World Heritage city that has barely changed in the last 200 years, founded as the main port of the spice trade and where the Japanese located their bridge during their settlement has become one of my great aspirations. Actually, Vietnam is full of great aspirants to my list: Ha Long, Cat Ba, Mù Cang Chải, the Golden Bridge, Ninh Bình, the island of Phu Quoc or Sapa are spectacular corners that I will take advantage of to know when I travel to this impressive country . But Hoi An, considered the most beautiful city in Vietnam, has that special charm and that ability to make you go back in time among its pagodas, temples, traditional houses and legends. I know that sooner or later I can enjoy it and savor it in one of its night markets by the light of one of its colorful lanterns.
3. Nine Arches Bridge, Sri Lanka
The experience of taking the train from Kandy to Ella and living those 6 hours of traveling in second class by standing quite a lot of its stretches, beyond looking horrible, suggests epic moments enjoying breathtaking views winding between mountains, farms and the jungle. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. And when you get to Ella, enjoy this bridge between the stations of Ella and Demodara which they call Ahas Namaye Palama – bridge of nine skies in Sinhalese – because if you look at it from below you can see the sky through the nine arches. Surrounded by tea leaves and palm trees, it seems like a magical place from which to see the moment in which the train crosses its arches and enjoy the views.
4. Borobudur, Yogyakarta
The largest Buddhist temple in the world, full of legends and mysticism, has always taken my breath away just by looking at it in photos (I can’t imagine being there in person). Some say it is the place where the tomb of Buddha is located and, seen from the air, it is a great mandala that symbolizes the pilgrimage of the mind through the cosmos until reaching absolute happiness, serenity of the mind and harmony with the Universe: what they call Nirvana. Can there be anything else?
5. Bagan, Myanmar
This wonderful place and its archeological site concentrate more than 4000 Buddhist temples of the eleventh and twelfth centuries and seem like a real spectacle. Walking among temples, altars and high pagodas on the red earth or hidden among the tropical vegetation or, even better, observing them from the air in a balloon, should be simply amazing. Along with a route on Inle Lake and a few days of rest and diving in the islands of the Myeik Archipelago, it is one of those trips to remember it all your life.
