Feliz 2019!!! Este primer post viene cargado de spoilers… 😉 los destinos que van a ser tendencia este nuevo año! Si estáis ya imaginando algunos de vuestros próximos viajes, tomad buena nota de ellos porque seguro que van a estar en boca de todos!!

 

10 destinos en el radar para 2019

 

1. Belice

Seguro que si pensamos en el Caribe enseguida se nos vienen a la cabeza destinos como Punta Cana, Puerto Rico o la Rivera Maya… pero resulta que Belice es uno de los destinos menos visitados del Caribe a pesar de tener la segunda barrera de coral más grande del mundo tras la australiana o importantes restos de la cultura Maya y pirámides en mitad de la jungla. Con un entorno natural rústico, exuberante y casi virgen, promete aventuras inolvidables en la jungla, bajo el mar o entre atolones, y los empresarios hoteleros ya ven su potencial y están creando maravillosos eco-resorts camuflados en la selva o junto a preciosas playas en los cayos.

El principal reclamo del país es su espectacular cenote submarino Blue Hole Natural Monument (en la foto), con 124 metros de profundidad y cuyos círculos de color azul pueden verse desde el cielo, pero también cuenta con otros grandes alicientes como el atolón de Glover formado por seis islotes vírgenes de arena blanca ideales para hacer kayac, los Cayos Ambergis y Caulker que son auténticos paraísos de desconexión y el relax, poder bucear junto a tiburones en Shark Ray Alley, mezclarse con la cultura garífuna al ritmo de los tambores en Hopkins, visitar el asentamiento maya de Caracol y las ruinas de Altun Ha o ver jaguares en la jungla. Todo ello transitando por la Hummingbird Highway (autopista del Colibrí), una de las carreteras más bonitas de Belice con unas vistas únicas de los montes Mayas. 

Si os animáis a visitar este impresionante lugar, echadle un vistazo al Thatch Caye Resort a Muy’Ono Resort… un hotel en la isla privada de Dangriga con su propia zona de playa virgen lleno de bungalows con vistas de 180º al mar, por unos 180€ la noche.

2. Sri Lanka

Ya apuntaba maneras a lo largo de este 2018… y no me extraña que haya sido elegido el mejor destino para 2019 en el ranking Best in Travelde Lonely Planet porque es un lugar único en el que se entremezclan diferentes religiones y culturas con entornos naturales excepcionales y una fauna única. Sri Lanka está más de moda que nunca porque tiene muchísimas alternativas para todos los gustos: desde el surf en Hiriketiya, hasta sus retiros de yoga pasando por el llamado triángulo cultural de Sirgiya, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura y Dambulla o por el famoso tren de Kandy a Ella que atraviesa paisajes irrepetibles rodeados de plantaciones de té. Es uno de los principales centros budistas del Mundo, y a pesar de ello se pueden encontrar templos tanto musulmanes como hinduistas como cristianos, y como curiosidad, en ella viven más de veinte mil elefantes, animal que consideran sagrado. 

Como alojamiento recomendado, no puedo hablaros de otro sitio que no sea el Wild Coast Tented Lodge junto al Parque Nacional de Yala popular por su gran población de leopardos e ideal para ir de safari y que además está junto a una playa espectacular de aguas transparentes del Indico. El hotel está diseñado con unas estructuras arqueadas que hacen que las tiendas adopten el color de las rocas del entorno y sus edificios principales hechos de bambú se mimetizan con un paisaje en el que destaca una piscina de forma libre alucinante. El hotel ofrece vehículos para explorar el parque y también pone a disposición de sus clientes un spa junto al océano que utiliza como ingredientes el té y la canela de Ceilán… se puede pedir más?

 

3. Uruguay

Contar con unas dimensiones mucho más acotadas que sus vecinas Argentina y Brasil, unido a que sus precios son mucho más asequibles, hacen que Uruguay gane cada vez más papeletas como destino para los que busquen una mezcla de historia, cultura y naturaleza. Montevideo, su capital, ha sido elegida como una de las ciudades con mejor calidad de Latinoamérica y su Rambla junto al Rio de la Plata es uno de los mayores espacios peatonales de costa del Mundo. Colonia Sacramento, a pocos kilómetros, es uno de los principales reclamos turísticos y Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco. Punta del Este es el destino de moda, la Saint Tropez de Uruguay en la que las playas, islas, sierras y bosques se entremezclan con una variada y lujosa arquitectura. Punta del Diablo es un pintoresco pueblo de pescadores y artesanos ideal para hacer surf, y en el Parque Nacional de Santa Teresa se concentran impresionantes playas vírgenes rodeadas de bosques protegidos. De Julio a Noviembre, las costas de Uruguay se llenan de ballenas y se pueden realizar excursiones para observarlas. En definitiva, un mix de variables que hacen que este país suba en el ranking.

4. Las Highlands y las Islas Escocesas 

Las Highlands, ubicadas en el centro-norte de Escocia, son uno de esos lugares recónditos del Mundo que esconden miles de secretos: leyendas célticas, montañas increíbles, paisajes de agua naturales y vida salvaje. Su ambiente entre misterioso, mágico y original es uno de los elementos que hacen de ellas uno de los destinos más atractivos para el año que viene. Para conocerlas, lo mejor es salir desde Edimburgo por la M90 hasta Inverness y desviarse siempre que se pueda por cualquiera de sus carreteras secundarias para descubrir sus montañas y pueblos, el Castillo de Urquhart, el famoso Lago Ness, el castillo más fotografiado de Escocia sobre una península en un lago (Eilean Donan Castle), o algunas de las localizaciones de las pelis de Harry Potter. Es imprescindible en este viaje visitar las Islas Hébridas y en especial la isla de Skye: para ello, se toma alguna de las carreteras que salen desde Inverness y que en pocos kilómetros atraviesan montañas, ríos, puentes y pueblos 100% auténticos. La romántica isla de Skye es un paraíso natural plagado de acantilados, castillos y monumentos y  tiene una belleza especial, siendo el lugar perfecto para cambiar de chip y desconectar.

5. Jordania e Israel

Dos países cada vez más en auge y que gracias a su proximidad permiten hacer un circuito completo que las agencias de viajes ya tienen “paquetizado“ en recorridos de unos 8-10 días. 2019 es el año de Jordania, que promociona su Jordan Trail o  ruta de 650 kilómetros que atraviesa los paisajes del valle del Rift, el Mar Muerto y castillos de la época de las cruzadas. Además de la imprescindible visita a la antigua ciudad de Petra, es un punto perfecto para realizar safaris fotográficos por el desierto y acampar con beduinos en el Wadi Rum o visitar la ciudad de los mosaicos, Madaba. En Israel, visitar Jerusalen es como caminar entre las hojas de un libro de historia abierto en el que  poder ver en primera persona lugares emblemáticos como La Basílica del Santo Sepulcro, el Templo de David , el Via Crucis o el Muro de las Lamentaciones. Y finalmente, en Mayo de 2019, Tel Aviv acoge el Festival de  Eurovisión y concentrará la máxima atención en todo el planeta.

El Wadi Rum Night Luxury Camp es un alojamiento compuesto por lujosas tiendas en mitad del desierto de Wadi Rum con cómodas camas dentro de burbujas acristaladas para ver las estrellas iluminadas en medio de la noche del desierto. 6. Sudáfrica

Sudáfrica gana año tras año puestos en las listas de los destinos más interesantes del planeta, y es que su variedad de entornos y paisajes étnicos, combinada con ciudades tan cosmopolitas como Ciudad del Cabo o Johannesburgo hacen de ella un destino completo y de rabiosa actualidad. Nada más aterrizar en Ciudad del Cabo te preguntarás si estás en el lugar adecuado, ya que puede recordarte a veces a Miami, San Francisco o incluso a Rio de Janeiro… Restaurantes, hoteles, galerías de arte y una atmósfera moderna y vibrante envuelven a esta ciudad que parece haber renacido de sus cenizas. Uno de sus símbolos más representativos es la Table Mountain con sus Doce riscos o Apóstoles,  flanqueada por el Pico del Diablo y la Cabeza del León y a la que se llega por medio de un teleférico. Desde Cape Town hasta Port Elisabeth, la Ruta Jardín es un camino panorámico que nos va sacando poco a poco de la gran ciudad para meternos de lleno en una naturaleza exuberante con paisajes propios de “Memorias de África“, playas de arena blanca, vistas del horizonte y con puntos donde poder ver hasta orcas, pingüinos y ballenas jorobadas recorriendo la llamada Wild Coast con sus acantilados y colinas. Un poco más al Norte, en la reserva natural del Cañón Del Río Blyde en Mpumalanga, está el mirador conocido como La Ventana De Dios, llamado así por sus vistas casi “celestiales“ de Sudáfrica y donde encontramos las famosas esculturas en medio de las piscinas naturales llamadas Bourke’s Luck Potholes. Y cerca de aquí, Johannesburgo, la ciudad más grande y poblada de Sudáfrica y centro económico y financiero del país.

El broche de oro es un safari el Parque Nacional Kruger para buscar a los 5 Grandes (el elefante, el león, el leopardo, el rinoceronte y el búfalo).

El Lagoon Beach Hotel & Spa esta en plena playa y algo alejado del ajetreo del centro de Ciudad el Cabo, pero lo suficientemente cerca como para poder disfrutarlo y con un servicio de transfer gratuito desde el hotel para una mayor comodidad. Lo mejor son sus vistas a la ciudad, a la Table Mountain y a la Isla de Robben desde su impresionante piscina y sus tres restaurantes.

Conocida como “La Tierra de las Mil Colinas“,  Ruanda se ha convertido en un destino cada vez más accesible y ofrece una oportunidad única de ver a los 880 gorilas de montaña que quedan en libertad en el mundo en el Parque Nacional de los Volcanes. Además de ver gorilas, se pueden hacer safaris en el Parque Nacional de Akagera. Kigali, su capital, ha tenido una enorme transformación en los últimos años y hoy en día es una ciudad renovada, con una oferta gastronómica impresionante, un animado ocio nocturno y atractivos mercados. Como alicientes extra para visitar este país, están sus exuberantes plantaciones de té, sus selvas tropicales… y la reciente revolución de hoteles boutique eco sostenibles en plena naturaleza.

El Hotel Bisate Lodge es una oda al diseño sostenible y al ecoturismo muy cerca del Parque Nacional de los Volcanes. Es ideal para descansar tras un intenso día de safari viendo los gorilas en un entorno natural casi dramático y rodeado de conos volcánicos erosionados. El hotel está compuesto por 12 villas de forma cónica camufladas en la selva y con enormes ventanas para disfrutar de las vistas de los alrededores.

 

8. Egipto, El Valle del Sur del Nilo

Viajar a Egipto es algo que todo traveler debe hacer al menos una vez en la vida… si además se trata de un destino asequible en el que, por poco dinero, se tiene la oportunidad de visitar los principales enclaves antiguos del Nilo y que poco a poco ha ido perdiendo la inseguridad de otros años… es para pensárselo, no? Para hacer este viaje, lo ideal es dedicar unos días antes a recorrer El Cairo y ver las pirámides, y coger después un avión que en 1,5h os dejara en Lúxor, lugar desde el que parten la mayoría de los cruceros de esta parte del Nilo. Su templo es uno de los más espectaculares de Egipto y está comunicado con el de Karnak a través de la Avenida de las Esfinges. El Valle de los Reyes es la necrópolis de Egipto donde están enterrados muchos faraones del Imperio Nuevo y el Valle de las Reinas, al lado, donde fueron enterrados reinas y príncipes de las dinastías XIX y XX. También en Lúxor están los colosos de Memnón, dos estatuas de 18 metros de altura, restos del templo funerario de Amenhotep III. El itinerario avanza hasta Edfu, con su templo dedicado al dios halcón Horus, y después hasta Asuán donde el Nilo fluye entre islas cubiertas de palmeras y plantas tropicales. Y dicen que si no se aprovecha este momento para visitar Abu Simbel es que no se conoce verdaderamente Egipto… eso sí, para ello hay que levantarse a las tres de la mañana y hacer un recorrido de nada más y nada menos que de 5 horas en autobús!

El MS Esmeralda Nile Cruise es una motonave de categoría 5 estrellas con piscina al aire libre y hasta una sala de Fitness para cruzar el Nilo con todo tipo de comodidades: bar restaurante, solarium y habitaciones hiper cómodas, ademas de un delicioso desayuno buffet o halla cada mañana.

 

9. Cabo Verde

Han dicho de Cabo Verde que es el nuevo Caribe y hasta las nuevas Canarias, pero este conjunto de 10 islas tiene una personalidad propia que va más allá de los resorts en playas de aguas cristalinas, y pretende superar el millón de viajeros en el año 2021. Sal, la isla principal, es la primera impresión que te llevas de este destino pero no es para nada la mejor de todas… lo mejor es moverse hacia Santa María y sus 8 kms. de arena blanca ideal para hacer snorkel, o hacia las aguas de Shark Bay para divisar tiburones limón. Más allá de sus playas, tenemos el incentivo de las dunas del Desierto de Viana, el volván antiguo de las Salinas Pedra de Lume, el pueblo pesquero de Palmeira, o el fotogénico Cabo de Santa María. Y para sentir las buenas vibraciones de Cabo Verde, lo mejor es parar en Mindelo y degustar platos como el guiso de cachupa acompañado de un grogue con ron… en definitiva, mucho por hacer y descubrir en este pequeño rincón paradisiaco africano.

El Spinguera Ecolodge está en la costa norte de la isla de Boa Vista y tiene acceso a un playa privada. Todos sus cottages tienen preciosas vistas al mar y algunos su pequeña terraza, y están ubicados en un enclave mágico que antes de convertirse en este impresionante eco-lodge fue una aldea de pescadores abandonada.

10. Montenegro

Puede que hasta ahora no te hubieses parado a reparar en este pequeño país mediterráneo… pero en los últimos años, Montenegro ha resurgido gracias a un nuevo perfil de viajero que busca tanto buenos paisajes costeros como un estilo de vida más cosmopolita. Además de su capital Kotor que nos ofrece su faceta más urbanita y un centro histórico Patrimonio de la Humanidad con el Mar Adriático de fondo, esconde rincones naturales arrebatadores como Perast, las Islas de Sveti Dorde, San Jorge y Gospa od Skrpjela, Budva y su escultura de la sirena, y sobre todo sus playas, a cuál más bonita: Lepetani, Dobra Oda, Pluzine, Bijeli… Como colofón, la Reserva Natural de Durmitor, Patrimonio Natural de Unesco desde 1980, una extensión de 39 mil hectáreas con vastos espacios naturales entre las cordilleras de los Alpes Dínáricos, cinco cañones, lagos, cavernas, glaciares y el popular Lago Negro con sus aguas oscuras que se cubre de hielo durante el Invierno.

El Hotel Allure Palazzi, en la bahía de Kotor, tiene su propia playa privada y una piscina al aire libre con unas vistas increíbles, a un poco más de 3 kms. cel centro histórico de Kotor. En su club de playa organizan eventos musicales y además cuenta con dos restaurantes propios.

10 destinations on radar for 2019

 

1. Belize

Surely if we think of the Caribbean, destinations such as Punta Cana, Puerto Rico or the Mayan Riviera come to mind … but it turns out that Belize is one of the least visited destinations in the Caribbean despite having the second barrier of coral Largest in the world after the Australian or important remains of the Mayan culture and pyramids in the middle of the jungle. 2. Sri Lanka

It is no wonder that the best destination for 2019 has been chosen in the Best in Travel ranking of Lonely Planet because it is a unique place where different religions and cultures intermingle with natural environments exceptional and a unique fauna. Sri Lanka is more fashionable than ever because it has so many alternatives for all tastes: from surfing in Hiriketiya, to its yoga retreats through the so-called cultural triangle of Sirgiya, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura and Dambulla or by the famous train of Kandy to Ella that crosses unrepeatable landscapes surrounded by tea plantations. It is one of the main Buddhist centers of the World, and in spite of it you can find temples both Muslim and Hindu as well as Christian, and as a curiosity, there live more than twenty thousand elephants, an animal that they consider sacred.

As for accommodations, I can only recommend you the Wild Coast Tented Lodge next to the Yala National Park popular for its large population of leopards and ideal to go on safari and also is next to a spectacular beach with clear waters of the Indian. The hotel is designed with arched structures that make the shops adopt the color of the surrounding rocks and their main buildings made of bamboo mimic a landscape in which an amazing free-form pool stands out. The hotel offers vehicles to explore the park and also offers its customers a spa by the ocean that uses Ceylon tea and cinnamon as ingredients … can you ask for more?

 

3. Uruguay

Having much more limited dimensions than its neighbors Argentina and Brazil, coupled with its prices are much more affordable, make Uruguay win more and more ballots as a destination for those seeking a mixture of history, culture and nature. Montevideo, its capital, has been chosen as one of the cities with the best quality in Latin America and its Rambla next to the Rio de la Plata is one of the largest pedestrian spaces on the coast of the world. Colonia Sacramento, a few kilometers away, is one of the main tourist attractions and a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Punta del Este is the fashionable destination, the Saint Tropez of Uruguay in which the beaches, islands, mountains and forests are interspersed with a varied and luxurious architecture. Punta del Diablo is a picturesque fishing village and artisans ideal for surfing, and in the Santa Teresa National Park there are impressive virgin beaches surrounded by protected forests. From July to November, the coasts of Uruguay are filled with whales and you can take excursions to observe them. In short, a mix of variables that make this country rise in the ranking.

4. Highlands & Scottish Islands

The Highlands, located in the center-north of Scotland, are one of those hidden places of the World that hide thousands of secrets: Celtic legends, incredible mountains, natural landscapes of water and wild life. To get to know them, it is best to leave from Edinburgh by the M90 ​​to Inverness and deviate whenever you can by any of its back roads to discover its mountains and towns, the Urquhart Castle, the famous Loch Ness, the most photographed castle in Scotland  (Eilean Donan Castle), or some of the locations of the Harry Potter movies. 6. South Africa

South Africa earns year after year positions in the lists of the most interesting destinations on the planet, and is that its variety of environments and ethnic landscapes, combined with cities as cosmopolitan as Cape Town or Johannesburg make it a complete destination and rabidly topical. As soon as you land in Cape Town you will wonder if you are in the right place, as it can remind you sometimes to Miami, San Francisco or even to Rio de Janeiro … Restaurants, hotels, art galleries and a modern and vibrant atmosphere envelop to this city that seems to have been reborn from its ashes. One of its most representative symbols is the Table Mountain with its Twelve cliffs or Apostles, flanked by the Pico del Diablo and the Lion’s Head and reached by a cable car. From Cape Town to Port Elisabeth, the Garden Route is a panoramic path that takes us little by little out of the big city to get fully into an exuberant nature with landscapes typical of «Out of Africa», white sandy beaches, views of the horizon and with points where you can see orcas, penguins and humpback whales touring the so-called Wild Coast with its cliffs and hills. A little further north, in the nature reserve of the Blyde River Canyon in Mpumalanga, is the viewpoint known as La Ventana De Dios, named for its almost «celestial» views of South Africa and where we find the famous sculptures in the middle of the pools natural calls Bourke’s Luck Potholes. And near here, Johannesburg, the largest and most populous city in South Africa and the economic and financial center of the country.

The top of the crown is a safari in the Kruger National Park to look for the Big 5 (the elephant, the lion, the leopard, the rhinoceros and the buffalo).

Lagoon Beach Hotel & Spa is on the beach and somewhat away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Cape Town, but close enough to enjoy it and with a free shuttle service from the hotel for more convenience. The best are its views of the city, Table Mountain and Robben Island from its impressive pool and its three restaurants.

Known as «The Land of the Thousand Hills», Rwanda has become an increasingly accessible destination and its great incentive is to offer the unique opportunity to see the 880 mountain gorillas that remain in freedom in the world in the National Park of the Volcanoes. Besides seeing gorillas, safaris can be done in the Akagera National Park. Kigali, its capital, has undergone a huge transformation in recent years and today is a renewed city, with an impressive gastronomic offer, a lively nightlife and attractive markets. As extra attractions to visit this country, are its lush tea plantations, its rainforests … and the recent eco-friendly boutique hotel revolution in the middle of nature.

The Bisate Lodge is an ode to sustainable design and ecotourism very close to the Volcanoes National Park. 8. Egypt, the South Valley of the Nile

Traveling to Egypt is something that every traveler should do at least once in their life … if it is also an affordable destination where you have the opportunity to visit the main ancient enclaves of the Nile and little by little, it has been losing the insecurity of other years … it is to think about it, is not it? To make this trip, the ideal is to spend a few days before touring Cairo and see the pyramids, and then take a plane that in 1.5h will leave you in Luxor, where most of the cruises depart from this part of the world. Its temple is one of the most spectacular in Egypt and is connected to Karnak through the Avenue of the Sphinxes. The Valley of the Kings is the necropolis of Egypt where many pharaohs of the New Kingdom are buried and the Valley of the Queens, where Queens and princes of the XIX and XX dynasties were buried. Also in Luxor are the colossi of Memnon, two statues of 18 meters high, remains of the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. 10. Montenegro
