Ya es oficial… estamos en Verano!!!!

Este año más que nunca lo he echado mucho de menos, porque parecía que el calor no tenía ganas de llegar… Pero al fin, aquí lo tenemos y arranca mi estación favorita del año. En Verano todo es libre, divertido, espontáneo e impredecible… una terraza con amigos, una tarde en la piscina, un viaje inesperado… me siento en mi salsa y no puedo decir más que soy feliz!!! 😉

Pero no solo yo celebro la inauguración del Verano cada año, en todas las partes del Mundo se le brinda homenaje y se celebra con rituales y costumbres llenas de leyendas y misterios la llegada del calor y de las noches más cortas del año. Así que para dar la bienvenida como se merece a esta nueva etapa estival, esta semana os traigo calentito…

5 lugares para celebrar el Solsticio de Verano en el Mundo

 

1. La noche de San Juan en Alicante, España

Cada 24 de Junio comienza una de las fiestas más divertidas y místicas  en la que se celebra la llegada del día más largo del año. Esta tradición, presente en varios países europeos y latinoamericanos, cuenta con un gran arraigo en toda España, pero especialmente en Alicante, donde se celebra la famosa noche de las hogueras. En ella, la gente salta sobre el fuego para alejar los malos espíritus, se quema todo lo malo que queremos ahuyentar en nuestra vida y se piden deseos. Todos los rituales giran en torno al fuego como energía purificadora y como triunfo de la luz sobre la oscuridad, y en torno al agua como elemento de propiedades milagrosa: primero debemos saltar un número impar de veces la hoguera para tener protección durante todo el año y después saltar siete olas de espaldas en el mar pidiendo un deseo en la séptima, finalizando con la banyá o baño en el mar para disfrutar de salud en lo que resta del año.

 

 

2. El Solsticio en Stonehenge, Inglaterra

El 21 de Junio miles de personas se congregan en torno al monumento neolítico de Stonehenge, el Templo del Sol,  para rendir un tributo a la Madre Tierra en el Solsticio de Verano. Este lugar creado para predecir los eclipses y se dice que la alineación de sus monolitos corresponde al reflejo de los movimientos del sol y de la luna, fundamentales para preparar la temporada de cosecha y de siembra en los solsticios de Invierno y de Verano. Cuentan que la fiesta fue creada por los agricultores de la época para celebrar su recolección y hoy en día esta fecha es la única ocasión en la que se permite el acceso al milenario círculo de piedra. La gente acude – incluso disfrazada– a este mágico lugar y la fiesta comienza desde la salida del sol, pero el gran momento clave es presenciar el momento en el que el sol atraviesa el eje central del complejo e incide sobre la “heel stone” para cargarse de la energía única de ese mágico instante.

 

 

3. Las Fiestas Juninas en Mossoró, Brasil

Con la llegada de San Antonio, San Juan y San Pedro desde el 13 hasta el 29 de Junio (en Brasil Solsticio de Invierno, pero en el que se produce una especie de veranillo), se sucede uno de los grandes eventos populares del país que se remonta cuando los colonizadores que llegaban desde Europa celebraban los primeros días de calor que anunciaban la llegada de la temporada de verano. Cada ciudad tiene su propio ritual de festejo con espectáculos musicales, bailes, disfraces y tradiciones propias y existe una gran rivalidad por ser la localidad con la mejor fiesta del país. Mossoró es una de las más famosas y turísticas: sus calles se llenan de casetas de comidas típicas de la región y se celebran competiciones de bailes entre cuadrillas. Se forman grupos de gente que caminan y cantan por las calles, pasando por las casas en las que los dueños les dejan comida y bebida en las ventanas, y el 13 de Junio (San Antonio), las iglesias reparten el «pancito de San Antonio» para colocarlo en las casas para que nunca falte comida y para que las mujeres solteras encuentren a su prometido.

Dicen que es el festival más caro del Mundo y el primero en la historia en celebrar un concierto en el interior del cráter de un volcán inactivo, en el glaciar más grande de Europa o celebrar una pool party dentro de una piscina natural. Durante 3 o 4 días en los que el sol no deja nunca de brillar, los mejores grupos tocan rodeados de unos de los mejores paisajes del mundo. La cita de este año promete, con los míticos Guns & Roses, Bonnie Tyler o Steve Aoki como grandes grupos confirmados. Sin duda, una manera distinta de celebrar la llegada del verano en un entorno en el que la energía solar nunca descansa y los ritmos circadianos se disparan.

 

 

5. Festividad de San Juan en San Juan de Puerto Rico

Cristóbal Colón bautizó a la isla de Puerto Rico como San Juan Bautista porque sus aguas claras le recordaban a las aguas con las que el apóstol bautizó a Jesús. Su festividad es una de las más celebradas en la isla y aunque existen festejos a lo largo de todo el día, la gran celebración se realiza en la media noche del 23 al 24 de Junio: a partir de las doce, playas como las de Condado, El Escambrón o Santa Teresita concentran grandes grupos de personas en torno al ritual de zambullirse doce veces en el agua del Caribe de la que se dice que tiene el mismo poder de purificación que la de San Juan. Con ello, la leyenda dice que se ahuyentarán las malas vibraciones y la mala suerte. En realidad, a lo largo de la noche se realizan todo tipo de rituales para atraer el amor, el dinero o el trabajo utilizando como elementos purificadores el agua y el fuego, y la fiesta se alarga hasta el amanecer.

It’s official … Summer is here !!!!

This year more than ever I missed it very much, because it seemed that the heat did not feel like arriving … But at last, here we have it and it starts my favorite season of the year. In summer everything is free, fun, spontaneous and unpredictable … a terrace with friends, an afternoon at the pool, an unexpected trip … I feel in my sauce and I can not say more that I am happy! 😉

But not only I celebrate the inauguration of the Summer every year, in all parts of the world it is honored and celebrated with rituals and customs full of legends and mysteries the arrival of the heat and the shortest nights of the year. So to welcome as it deserves to this new summer season, this week I bring you warm …

5 places to celebrate the Summer Solstice in the World

 

1. The night of San Juan in Alicante, Spain

Every June 24 begins one of the most fun and mystical parties in which the arrival of the longest day of the year is celebrated. This tradition, present in several European and Latin American countries, has a deep roots throughout Spain, but especially in Alicante, where the famous bonfire night is celebrated. In it, people jump over the fire to ward off evil spirits, it burns up everything bad that we want to scare away in our lives and we ask for desires. All rituals revolve around fire as purifying energy and as triumph of light over darkness, and around water as an element of miraculous properties: first we must jump an odd number of times the bonfire to have protection throughout the year and Then jump seven waves backwards in the sea asking for a wish in the seventh, ending with the banyá or bath in the sea to enjoy health in the rest of the year.

 

 

2. The Solstice in Stonehenge, England

On June 21, thousands of people gather around the Stonehenge Neolithic monument, the Temple of the Sun, to pay tribute to Mother Earth on the Summer Solstice. This place created to predict eclipses and it is said that the alignment of its monoliths corresponds to the reflection of the movements of the sun and the moon, fundamental to prepare the harvest and planting season in the Winter and Summer solstices. They say that the party was created by the farmers of the time to celebrate its collection and today this date is the only occasion in which access to the millennial stone circle is allowed. People come – even in disguise – to this magical place and the party starts from sunrise, but the key moment is to witness the moment when the sun crosses the central axis of the complex and hits the «heel stone» to charge of the unique energy of that magical moment.

 

 

3. The Fiestas Juninas in Mossoró, Brazil

With the arrival of San Antonio, San Juan and San Pedro from June 13 to June 29 (in Brazil Winter Solstice, but in which a kind of summer is produced), one of the great popular events in the country takes place. It goes back to when the colonizers arriving from Europe celebrated the first hot days that announced the arrival of the summer season. Each city has its own ritual of celebration with musical shows, dances, costumes and own traditions and there is a great rivalry to be the town with the best party in the country. Mossoró is one of the most famous and tourist: its streets are filled with booths of typical foods of the region and competitions of dances  are celebrated. Groups of people are formed who walk and sing in the streets, passing by the houses where the owners leave food and drink in the windows, and on June 13 (San Antonio), the churches distribute the «pancito de San Antonio» «to place it in the houses so that there is never a lack of food and for single women to find their fiancé.

They say it is the most expensive festival in the world and the first in history to hold a concert inside the crater of an inactive volcano, on the largest glacier in Europe or hold a pool party in a natural pool. During 3 or 4 days in which the sun never stops shining, the best groups play surrounded by some of the best landscapes in the world. The appointment of this year promises, with the mythical Guns & Roses, Bonnie Tyler or Steve Aoki as big groups confirmed. Undoubtedly, a different way to celebrate the arrival of summer in an environment in which solar energy never rests and circadian rhythms soar.

 

 

5. San Juan Festival in San Juan de Puerto Rico

Christopher Columbus baptized the island of Puerto Rico as San Juan Bautista because its clear waters reminded him of the waters with which the apostle baptized Jesus. Its festivity is one of the most celebrated on the island and although there are celebrations throughout the day, the great celebration takes place at midnight from June 23 to 24: from twelve o’clock, beaches like those of Condado The Escambrón or Santa Teresita group large groups of people around the ritual of diving twelve times in the Caribbean water that is said to have the same power of purification as San Juan. With this, the legend says that bad vibrations and bad luck will be scared away.
