Decía el maestro al lugar donde has sido feliz no debieras tratar de volver… llamadme osada por contradecir a Sabina, pero Ibiza ejerce esa especie de magnetismo que te atrapa, te seduce, te invita a repetir.

Ibiza es un estado de ánimo. Positivo, luminoso, posible. Ibiza son muchas experiencias a 50 minutos de casa: un trocito de las cícladas, aguas caribeñas, postureo monegasco, un viaje romántico al siglo XVI entre los muros de D’Alt Vila. Hippies, snobs, turistas, isleños. Y todo esto en 60 kms. de punta a punta de la isla pitiusa (en griego, reserva de pinos). ¿Promete, no?

Siempre he tenido claro que mi primer Post estaría dedicado a la Isla Blanca. Y nunca mejor para publicarlo que ahora, hace tan solo una semana callejeaba por D’Alt Vila y disfrutaba de sus puestas de sol, sintiendo el salitre en la piel

Un post no da para todo, y estoy segura que más adelante habrá follow-ups, pero para empezar os hablaré de lo que para mí es más sugerente y espero que cada uno de vosotros podáis aportar vuestros propios rincones y «flechazos»… Empezamos!

Ibiza tiene mil rincones, lugares más abarrotados, pueblecitos escondidos… a mí me gusta fijar un «centro de operaciones» (suelo ir a  zona del pueblo, cerca de Figueretes, para poder tener accesible la playa) y desde ahí moverte con libertad. La zona Norte es más salvaje y está menos masificada, mientras que el Este y el Oeste son los más concurridos.

Más allá de lo geográfico, para mí la isla se divide en dos facetas. Cuestión de gustos, de bolsillos, de estados de ánimo….. Para cada una de ellas hay un momento, un pálpito, una motivación… y también diferentes BITES.

La primera es la Ibiza Manifiesta

La conocéis seguro, aún sin haber estado allí. Ya sabéis… Famosa por el ajetreo, la fiesta, los clubs, la exclusividad, el postureo y el derroche. Blue Marlin, Lío Ibiza, El Amante, Cipriani, Pacha, Playa d’en Bossa, barcos con fiesta non-stop, italianos y alemanes… Es así. Puedes explorar esta faceta de la isla y sentirte VIP por un momento. De aquí poco tengo que descubriros, ya que es la cara más marketiniana y promocionada de la isla. Os dejo algunos Bites para carteras bien alimentadas o para quienes quieran darse un homenaje…

LIFESTYLE BITES:

VIBE BITES:

• USHUAÏA. Para mí la mejor alternativa a las macro discotecas y afters por ser al aire libre y a la luz del sol. Daytime Party, precios elevados (entrada standar en torno a los 55-60€, cervezas 6×60€… y de la zona VIP y las botellas de Champagne no hablamos)… pero al menos una vez recomiendo ir a conocerlo. Yo he estado dos veces (Closing Party 2014 y Armin van Buuren 2015)  y no paré de bailar 😉 Está en Playa D’en Bossa. http://www.ushuaiaibiza.com

FOOD BITES:

La otra cara de la isla, la que personalmente más me gusta, es la Ibiza Latente

Auténtica, tranquila, sencilla, sorprendente, por descubrir. Esta es la faceta que me atrapó desde el primer momento, con la que más me identifico, y de la que aprendo más en cada visita. Es cierto que no todo es baratísimo, pero sí merece la pena. Puedes encontrar enclaves paradisiacos, puestas de sol inolvidables, cenas románticas en rincones escondidos, mercadillos hippies, vistas increíbles, conversaciones animadas con los isleños, perderte en las callejuelas de la ciudad antigua…

Y lo mejor de todo es que lo puedes disfrutar en pocas horas, en una escapada de fin de semana, unas vacaciones… o en toda una vida.  Es prácticamente imposible hablaros de todas las opciones que esta isla ofrece! A continuación os comentaré mis sitios preferidos, mis Musts por el momento, espero que os gusten tanto como a mí!

Para preparar un día intenso en Ibiza,  es fundamental empezar el día con un buen DESAYUNO. Os dejo un par de BITES:

 Con mood hippie e increíbles vistas al mar, Little Ibiza en el paseo marítimo de Figueretes (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Little-Ibiza-Paseo-De-Figueretas/760415130649904)

Muy recomendables  los desayunos que sirven en Harinus (avenida de España 20, https://es-la.facebook.com/harinusoficial): zumos naturales, smoothies, batidos… todo con olor a pan recién horneado y todo servido con una gran sonrisa.

Id de MERCADILLOS!!! Hay uno cada día de la semana…

• Los LUNES Y MARTES por la tarde (19h a 1h), tienes activo  el MERCADILLO HIPPIE DE LAS DALIAS.
• Los MIÉRCOLES de 10h a 19h, puedes visitar  MERCADILLO HIPPIE DE ES CANÁ PUNTA ARABÍ
• Los JUEVES tienes diferentes alternativas:
  • Las tardes de los JUEVES en verano, en CALA LLONGA montan puestecillos en la calle principal con moda y bisutería hecha a mano
  • Entre primeros de Junio y mediados de Septiembre y desde las 18h, en la plaza del pueblo de SAN MIGUEL podrás disfrutar de su mercado artesanal
  • También de Junio a Septiembre, pero desde las 19h, en SAN RAFAEL hay un mercado artesanal en el que encontrarás desde objetos hechos a mano hasta fruta de agricultores locales
• Los VIERNES por la mañana, en Playa D’en Bossa, hay un pequeño HIPPIE MARKET enfrente del hotel Bahamas
• Los SÁBADOS,
  • El mercado más famoso de la isla: HIPPIE MARKET DE LAS DALIAS: DJs, terracitas, todo tipo de productos, incluso lectura de manos! Está en la carretera hacia San Carlos
  • MERCADO DE SANT JORDI en el hipódromo, donde la mayoría de los puestos son locales.
• Y los DOMINGOS..
  • ONCE UPON A TIME en las Salinas. Un «mercadillo-fiesta»en el Hostal Boutique las Salinas: un hostal precioso y al lado de las Salinas, un lugar con encanto al sur de la isla que recomiendo un poco más adelante en la sección de alojamientosEn SANT JOAN DE LABRITJA podrás encontrar su mercadillo y te recomiendo que una vez haya hecho tus compras te tomes un café en The Giri Café (http://www.cafe.thegiri.com) un descubrimiento!!! Luego es obligatorio buscar las AGUAS CRISTALINAS de Ibiza, hay millones de posibilidades. Aquí mis PLACES preferidos:

• Si no te importa tanto el ajetreo: Cala Comte, Cala Bassa, Cala Vadella o Cala Tarida son de las más bonitas y famosas.
• Si eres de los que huyes de lo masificado, puedes perderte en Es Canaret (una cala de no muy fácil acceso: debes atravesar un sendero público peatonal habilitado en el terreno de una casa privada, o bien llegar en barco, pero llena de encanto y de impresionante biodiversidad ), Cala Olivera (a 8kms. de Santa Eularia, de paisaje salvaje y virgen),  Aiguas Blanques (frecuentada por los Ibicencos, protegida por acantilados), o llegar hasta Atlantis/ Sa Pedrera de Cala d’Hort (un lugar auténtico y peculiar debido a las formaciones de roca que le rodean)
• También recomiendo Cala Gracioneta, cerca de San Antonio, no está muy masificada pero al ser una calita pequeña es facil que con poca gente se llene
• Mención especial para Na Coloms (la cueva de la luz) en el Norte de la isla, es una piscina natural impresionante. Un  lugar recóndito y de muy difícil acceso (solo se puede llegar buceando o haciendo trekking) pero que te deja sin palabras. Para los más aventureros

Lo mejor para reponer fuerzas, UN BUEN ARROZ o UN BULLIT DE PEIX (especialidad ibicenca que consta de un primer plato con guiso de pescados de roca y un segundo plato de arroz a banda elaborado con el caldo del guiso de pescado)

• Buenos, bonitos, baratos:  Sa Trenka, en Cala Martina. En plena playa, de ambiente familiar. O El Bigotes, en Cala Mastella
• Con más renombre y fama: Pou des Lleó (http://es.poudeslleo.com). O Es Torrent en Sant Josep de Sa Talaia (http://www.estorrent.net)

Tras una comida copiosa, una SOBREMESA TRANQUILA y de rollo chill… 🙂

• En Salinas, Lo Cura Lounge & Pool en el  Hotel Boutique Las Salinas! un lugar con mucho encanto:

• En Cala San Vicente, On The Beach. Al ladito de cala y de ambiente relajado.
• En plena ciudad vieja, cerquita del puerto, encontramos un pequeño tesoro con muy buenos precios y muy buen servicio: Escarabajo Café (calle del Mar, 16)
• Chirincana (http://www.chirincanaibiza.com), en Cala Martina, muy hippie y con unas vistas preciosas. A veces incluso con mercadillo Hippie.

Un par de MIRADORES de obligada visita:

• Las Puertas del Cielo, en Santa Inés, frente a los islotes de Ses Margadiles,
• Mirador de Es Vedrá, un islote que es icono de la isla, dicen que es posiblemente el mirador más bonito de Ibiza. Recomiendo mirar el islote desde la Torre del Pirata (nombre popular de la Torre del Savinar)

El plato fuerte: disfrutar de una PUESTA DE SOL en Ibiza, a cual más espectacular

Benirrás, rítmica. La caída del sol más famosa gracias al ritmo de la fiesta de los tambores (todos los Domingos de verano por la tarde). Dicen que todo empezó de manera espontánea cuando un grupo de hippies hicieron de Benirrás su lugar seducidos por su luz, y se ha convertido en una de las principales atracciones de la isla. Desde luego, no es la puesta de sol más tranquila y en verano está hasta los topes, pero hay que vivirla!

  Cala Comte, mágica: tener la oportunidad de ver la puesta de sol desde Sunset Ashram  (http://www.sunsetashram.com),  amenizada por su DJ y con mojito en mano es impresionante. Si ya te puedes permitir cenar en la jaima hippie el momento se convierte en memorable. No me digáis por qué, pero para mí es un lugar emblemático donde el espíritu y la energía de Ibiza te contagian. Siempre que he estado he sentido que de alguna manera me conectaba con la isla. Para ser uno de estos privilegiados, obligatorio reservar en verano. Si has improvisado, no te preocupes! Disfrutarás de las mismas vistas fuera del chiringuito. Ah! Y visita su tienda hippie!     

Café del Mar, mítica:  (http://www.cafedelmarmusic.com,) en San Antonio. La tradicional puesta de sol de Ibiza amenizada con la música chill de Café del Mar. Si  tienes la suerte de  poder disfrutar de las vistas con alguna actuación o performance, todavía mejor. Recomiendo acompañarlo de una Isleña («the beer of Ibiza»), y como pasa en Cala Comte, si no te apetece dejarte el dinero en el café, siempre podrás observar cómo el cielo va cambiando de color desde las rocas, igualmente impresionante y más barato!         

 Kumharas y Punta Galera, alternativas: el primero es un bar en la Bahía de San Antonio (http://www.kumharas.org) con música relajante y espectáculos. La segunda, una cala escondida donde disfrutar de una manera más original de la puesta de sol: desde el agua!Algo menos conocidas pero no por ello desdeñables.

Si quieres CENAR en sitios especiales,  te recomiendo:

•  La Brasa, http://www.labrasaibiza.com/. Si vas, tienes que cenar en el patio, precioso, con las mesas escondidas entre los árboles, con una iluminación espectacular… con esta imagen sobran las palabras: 
  

• Sa Finca, un rincón ibicenco precioso en Santa Eularia (Calle las gorgonias 7), con vistas espectaculares al mar
• Bambuddha, http://www.bambuddha.com, en la carretera de San Juan, precio un poco elevado pero una decoración espectacular
• La Oliva, en el interior de la muralla de la Ciudad Antigua, http://www.laolivaibiza.com
• Sidrería Poma (Carrer Caietà Soler Nº9), auténtica sidra y platos asturianos, muy buena relación calidad-precio

¿Cansado? Ibiza tiene alojamientos para todos los gustos… aquí algunos de los que más me gustan

• INCREÍBLES:
  • Agroturismo Sa Talaia, http://www.satalaiaibiza.com, en San Antonio. Unos 280€ la noche en habitación doble.

  • Hotel Hacienda na Xamena, http://www.hotelhacienda-ibiza.com  en la costa norte de la isla, un hotel de lujo con vistas impresionantes. Para disfrutar al menos una vez en la vida!

Siempre que pienso en la Isla Bonita, se me vienen a la cabeza LOOKS boho! Aquí algunas sugerencias para la playa, para ir de mercadillos, salir…

The place where you have been happy you shouldn’t try to go back… call me daring to contradict Sabina, but Ibiza exerts a sort of magnetism that captures you from the begining, it seduces you, inviting you to repeat.

Ibiza is a state of mind. Positive, bright, possible. Ibiza has all kind of experiences 50 minutes awat from home: a piece of the Ciclades Islands, Caribbean crystal waters, Monegasque phony, a romantic flashback to Century XVI. Hippies, snobs, turists, islanders. You can discover all this things in 60 kilometers from one end of the pitiusa island (Grrek, pine reserve). This promises, isn’t it?

I’ve always known that my first post would be dedicated to the White Island… And never better to publish now, just a week ago I was walking the streets of the Old City and enjoyed the sunsets, feeling the salt spray in my skin.

Only one post falls short to describe the island, I’m sure more follow-ups will became soon, but this is only an starting point to tell all of you what are the more suggesting BITES of the island… hoping each one of you guys ad your own suggestions, little findings and Bites… Let’s begin!

Ibiza has thousand of places to see, from the most crowded to the hidden. I use to choose a spot to stay (near the old town, in Figueretes, for its easy acces to the beach) and from there move freely. The North side of the island is wilder and less crowded, whereas the East and the West are busiest.

Beyoind geographically, the island is divided in two facets from my point of view. It is a matter of taste, of pocket, of mood… For each one there is a moment, a hunch, a driver… and also different BITES.

The first one is the Show-Off side of the Island

You know it for sure, even if you’ve never been there. You know… Well-know for its hustle, parties and clubs, exclusivity, show-off and wasting. Blue Marlin, Lío Ibiza, El Amante, Cipriani, Pacha, Playa d’en Bossa, non-stop party boats, Italian and German … That’s how it is. You can explore this side of the island and feel like a VIP for a moment.  This little I can reval, because is the most commercial and promoted side of the island.  I leave some BITES if you want to give yourself a good tribute…

LIFESTYLE BITES:

AMANTE BEACH CLUB. On the creek of  Sol den Serra, near Santa Eularia, surrounded by cliffs, and even with a pier!   http://www.amanteibiza.com/es/home

VIBE BITES:

USHUAÏA. It’s a matter of personal preference, but I prefer to listen to music outdoors and enjoying the natural light than in the macro discos at dawn.  Daytime Party, not cheap (55-60€ the standar ticket, beers 6×60€… and you can also decide if you want to upgrade to the VIP area)… but I would recommend to go at least once to live the experience. I’ve been there twice (Closing Party, 2014 and Armin van Buuren/ A State f Trance, 2015)  and I couldn’t stop dancing 😉 You will find it at Playa D’en   Bossa. http://www.ushuaiaibiza.com

FOOD BITES:

The other side, the one I personally love, is the Smouldering side 

Authentic, pure, simple, surprising, to be discovered. This side caught me completely from scratch, I feel identify with it and I learn more of it in each visit to the island. Yes, not always cheap, but worth it. You can find paradisiacac places, unforgettable sunsets, romantic dinners in amazing restaurants, beautiful views, interesting conversations with the locals, hippy flea markets, hidden old streets and ancient houses…

And the best of all is that you can enjoy all this beautiful things both hours and long holidays, or even during all your entire life. I have to apologize in advance because it is almost imposible to describe all the possibilities of the island, but I’m going to discover you my favorite places and musts. Hope you will love them as I do!

To be ready for a busy day in the island, it is essential to start the day with a good BREAKFAST. Here you have a couple of BITES:

• On MONDAY AND TUESDAY evenings (19pm – 1am), LAS DALIAS HIPPIE NIGHT MARKET in San Carles de Peralta
• On WEDNESDAYS (10 am to 19pm), ES CANÁ PUNTA ARABÍ HIPPIE FLEA MARKET
• On THURSDAY, you can choose between different alternatives:
  • On Summer evenings, the main street of CALA LLONGA has a lot of market stalls with fashion and handmade jewelry
  • Fom June to middle September, from 18pm, you will find the Craft Market in SAN MIGUEL’S main square
  • From June to September, from 19 pm, you also have a Craft Market in SAN RAFAEL, offering you also local agricultural products
• On FRIDAY mornings, at Playa D’en Bossa,  HIPPIE MARKET in front of the Bahamas Hotel
• On SATURDAYS,
  • The most famous flea market of the island: HIPPIE MARKET DE LAS DALIAS: DJs, terraces, all kind of objects, even hand reading! You will find it on San Carles de Peralta Road.
  • SANT JORDI’s MARKET, at the hippodrome, with local market stalls.
• And finally, on SUNDAYS…
  • ONCE UPON A TIME at Salinas,you will find it at Boutique Hostal Las Salinas, a beautiful place that I recommend to visit at the Accomodation Section bellow…
  • FLEA MARKET at SANT JOAN DE LABRITJA. I do reccomend to discover The Giri Café (http://www.cafe.thegiri.com) what a find!!! Do not trust the entrance, inside it is espectacular! Here you have some images so you can see how nice it is:

Now, it is mandatory to search for the most  CRYSTALLINE WATERS of Ibiza, you have many possibilities. These are my favourite PLACES:

• If you search for busy places: Cala Comte, Cala Bassa, Cala Vadella or Cala Tarida are beautiful and famous.
• If you flee from the crowded, you can get lost at Es Canaret (is not easy to reach: you have to cross a public path enable within the grounds of a private property, or get there by boat), but it is a place full of charme and with an amazing biodiversity, Cala Olivera (8kms. from Santa Eularia, with a virgin and wilde scenery),  Aiguas Blanques (visited by the local people, protected by the cliffs), oe Atlantis/ Sa Pedrera de Cala d’Hort (an original and magical place surounded by rock formations)
• I also reccomend you Cala Gracioneta, near San Antonio. It is not too much overcrowded but it is a small cove, so it is easy to be busy even with few people.
• One special mention to Na Coloms (the cave of light) in the North of the island, an impressive natural pool. This place is hidden and hard to reach (you can only get there diving or trekking), but if you make it to the end leaves you speachless. Only for the adventurous.

Best to regain strength, A GOOD RICE or BULLIT DE PEIX (typical dish of Ibiza that it is consisting of a first plate with rock fish stew and a second plate of a banda rice, elaborated with the broth of the fish stew)

• Good and affordable:  Sa Trenka, at Cala Martina. Right on the beach, with a family atmosphere. Or El Bigotes, at Cala Mastella
• More famous (and expensive) : Pou des Lleó (http://es.poudeslleo.com). Or Es Torrent at Sant Josep de Sa Talaia (http://www.estorrent.net)

After a hearty meal, nothing better than a quiet an CHILL DESKTOP 🙂

• Lo Cura Lounge & Pool at Hotel Boutique Las Salinas, a place with lots of charm:

• On The Beach. Right in Cala San Vicente, with a relaxing atmosphere.
• In the Old Town, close to the port,  Escarabajo Café (del Mar street, 16). A little gem with very good prices and service.
• Chirincana (http://www.chirincanaibiza.com), at Cala Martina. With a hippie mood and beautiful views. Sometime it also offers a Hippie Flea Market.

A couple of  VIEWPOINTS must see:

• Las Puertas del Cielo (The gates of heaven), at Santa Inés, in front of  Ses Margadiles islets,

• Mirador de Es Vedrá, the iconic islet of the island, they said what is arguably the most beaautiful viewpoint of the island. Very recommenden to look at the islet from the Pirate Tower (popular name for Torre del Savinar)

The highlight: the  SUNSET IN IBIZA, wich of them more espectacular

Benirrás, rhythmic. The most famous sunset due to the Party of the Drums (Sunday summer afternoons). Say it all started spontaneously when a group of hippies stted at Benirras seduced by its light, and it has become in one of the principal attraction of the island. You won’t enjoy a relaxing sunset and it is crowded in Summer, but it is something that you have to life once in the life!

  Cala Comte, magical. Having the oportunity to enjoy the sunset from Sunset Ashram  (http://www.sunsetashram.com),  with the music of its DJ and a mojito is impressive. If you can also have dinner on the hippie tent, this moment will be memorable. I don’t know why, but this place is emplematic for me, the spirit and the energy of the island spreads you. Whenever I have been there I have felt that, somehow, I wa connected to the island. If you want to be one of those priviliged, you have to reserve in summer. If you               improvised, do not worry! You will enjoy the same views outside the beach club. And don’t forget to visit its hippie store!     

Café del Mar, mythical:  (http://www.cafedelmarmusic.com,) at San Antonio. The traditional sunset with the chill out music from Cafe del Mar. I recommed to enjoy it with an Isleña  («the beer of Ibiza»). As happens in Cala Comte, if you don’t want to spend money at the cafe, you can see how the sky change colours from the rocks, it is equally impressive… but cheaper! 😉         

 Kumharas and Punta Galera, alternatives: The first one at San Antonio Bay (http://www.kumharas.org) with relaxing music and performance. The second one, a hidden cove where you can enjoy the sunset in an original way: from the water! Maybe they are less famous than the previous ones, but they are also recommended!
