Estos días hemos estado en plena celebración del Orgullo en Madrid. Este año la ciudad se ha volcado en el evento, tras ser elegida en 2017 como sede para celebrar la quinta edición del Orgullo Mundial, pero el WorldPride es un evento cada vez más potente e importante en todo el Mundo, y son muchas las ciudades que durante varios días de los meses de Junio, Julio o Agosto preparan por todo lo alto todo tipo de celebraciones y actividades para promover cuestiones relacionadas con lesbianas, gays, bisexuales y transexuales y la igualdad de derechos de todos los colectivos.
Este movimiento comenzó en la ciudad de Nueva York, concretamente en los disturbios de Stonewall de finales de Junio del año 1969, como un evento social y político en defensa de los derechos de los homosexuales en EEUU. Posteriormente se fue extendiendo en todo el mundo transformándose en un mix de manifestación, desfile y festejo que incluso actúa como reclamo turístico para visitar las diferentes ciudades que lo organizan, para celebrar la diversidad, la diferencia y la tolerancia.
Solo en este 2018, se han organizado cerca de 150 festivales y eventos oficiales de Pride en todo el mundo, tanto el mes del orgullo como en los meses anteriores y posteriores, por lo que es casi imposible recogerlos todos en este post, pero hemos seleccionado entre todos ellos…
5 grandes destinos para celebrar el amor y el orgullo en el Mundo
1. Madrid
MADO Madrid Orgullo es ya el mayor evento urbano que se celebra en Europa y concentra ya casi a dos millones de personas cada año. Este año Madrid celebra 40 años de Orgullo, y cada año la ciudad se inunda de música en vivo, fiestas al aire libre, cultura y deportes, contando como principal epicentro con el barrio de Chueca pero extendiéndose por las principales calles y barrios de la capital. Durante 11 días, se celebrará todo lo logrado en estos 40 años por el colectivo LGTBIQ+ y se reivindicarán los retos a los que todavía se debe hacer frente, se trata casi de la fiesta mayor de Madrid y llena de color y fantasía la ciudad. Este año existen diversas actuaciones, un cabaret, un homenaje a los festivales de Eurovisión o la segunda edición del festival Río Babel entre otras muchas citas de la agitada agenda madrileña durante estos días.
2. Tel Aviv
Los primeros días de Junio, Tel Aviv se llega de vida y colores llamativos y acoge a personas procedentes de todo el Mundo, este año bajo el lema “La Comunidad hace historia“ rindiendo homenaje a los fundadores de esta comunidad en la ciudad. El desfile del Orgullo Gay en Tel Aviv es el más numeroso de Oriente Medio y en 2017 concentró a unas 200.000 personas de todos los rincones del planeta. Este año su embajador ha sido Andy Cohen, se ha contado con una presentación especial de la ganadora israelí de Eurovisión Netta y la celebración ha coincidido con diferentes aniversarios: el de los 20 años desde el primer desfile del Orgullo en Tel Aviv, 70 años desde la creación del estado de Israel o 10 años desde la apertura del primer centro gay de la ciudad. Gan Me’ir Park, considerado el centro de la comunidad gay de la ciudad, es el lugar desde el que comienza el desfile que culmina en una gran fiesta en la playa Gordon Beach. Además, la organización este año ha creado el brazalete TLV18 que permite entrar a las principales fiestas de la semana del orgullo y ofrece descuentos en toda la ciudad.
3. Nueva York
Si hay un lugar en el Mundo con una conexión especial con los eventos Pride, este es Nueva York, lugar donde despegó el movimiento moderno de los derechos de los homosexuales en 1969, cuando la policía irrumpió en el Stonewall Inn, un bar gay en Greenwich Village, desencadenando una serie de disturbios y manifestaciones en las ciudades de Nueva York, Los Ángeles y San Francisco. Este 2018 ha sido el 49º año de celebración en esta ciudad, comenzando el 24 de Junio en la Calle 16 y terminando en la Quinta Avenida. Además, en el Pier 97 del parque Hudson River se celebra el festival Pride Island con actuaciones como la de Kylie Minogue.
4. Berlin
Es una de las celebraciones más grandes del Orgullo en Europa, se celebra desde 1979 y recibe el nombre de Christopher Street Day en homenaje a los disturbios de Stonewall. Cada año Berlin llega a atraer hasta medio millón de personas a su desfile, que comienza en Kurfürstendamm y Joachimsthaler Straße y termina en la impresionante Puerta de Brandeburgo. También hay un Berlín alternativo en los barrios de Kreuzberg y Schöneberg, este último considerado el barrio gay por excelencia de la capital alemana ideal para visitarlo estos días: pasear por la plaza Nollendorf y su mercado de Winterfeld, y tomar unas copas por la zona de ambiente en las calles Motzstrasse y Fuggerstrasse.
5. Amsterdam
Uno de los eventos más conocidos de la celebración del orgullo en Amsterdam y lo que verdaderamente le da su toque especial es su impresionante Canal Parade, un desfile a través de los canales con barcas decoradas de todos los colores. Unas 80 embarcaciones montan un auténtico espectáculo con DJs a bordo y temas a todo volumen para transmitir un mensaje de igualdad y disfrute a todos los espectadores que contemplan el espectáculo desde las orillas del Prinsengracht y el río Amstel. Se trata de una fiesta para todos, no solamente para la comunidad LGTB, y es un momento inolvidable para visitar esta ciudad.

These days we have been in full celebration of the Gay Pride in Madrid. This year the city has turned to the event, after being chosen in 2017 as the venue to celebrate the fifth edition of the World Pride, but the WorldPride is an increasingly powerful and important event throughout the world, and many cities during several days of the months of June, July or August they prepare all sorts of celebrations and activities to promote issues related to lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transsexuals and the equality of rights of all groups.

5 great destinations to celebrate love and pride in the World
1. Madrid
MADO Madrid Pride is already the largest urban event held in Europe and already concentrates almost two million people each year. This year Madrid celebrates 40 years of Pride, and every year the city is flooded with live music, outdoor parties, culture and sports, counting as the main epicenter with the neighborhood of Chueca but extending through the main streets and neighborhoods of the capital . 3. New York
If there is a place in the World with a special connection to the Pride events, this is New York, where the modern gay rights movement took off in 1969, when the police broke into the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in Greenwich Village, unleashing a series of riots and demonstrations in the cities of New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
